Remember to Recycle Right. Garbage and other nonrecyclable
items mixed in with your blue recycled cart can
contaminate the load. A recent study found that Coral Springs
recyclables are contaminated with 17 percent garbage. Foam
cartons, trays, and plastic bags are considered contaminants.
Corrugated cardboard is recyclable, but soiled pizza boxes are
not. Although paper towels, paper plates, and paper napkins
are paper, they are not considered recyclable, so toss those in
the garbage. Let’s work together to lower our contamination
rate. Put those non-recyclable items in the green cart where it
will be disposed of at a waste to energy plant and converted
to electricity. To learn more about Recycling Right, call
954-344-1196. P
