GAME SQUAD<br />

Are you crazy about playing games on<br />
your favorite handheld device? Then the<br />
Parkland Library’s Game Squad is right for<br />
you. Children, ages 7 and older, will get<br />
the chance to connect through the library’s<br />
WiFi to play with fellow gamers while also<br />
socializing in person. Participants must<br />
bring their own devices (iPad, Nintendo<br />
DS, etc.) with their preferred games already<br />
downloaded.<br />
CREATIVE WRITING WORKSHOP FOR TEENS<br />

Instructor Jodi Turchin will lead the way<br />
in this fun creative-writing get-together.<br />
There will be hands-on activities such as<br />
drafting ideas for a novel and using settings<br />

French street artist JR depicts social<br />
injustices through giant, involved works<br />
portraying the faces of the impoverished<br />
and displaced. JR uses his camera to<br />
show the world its true face, by pasting<br />
photos of the human face across massive<br />
canvases. We’ll watch a video presentation<br />
of this talk and then discuss as a group.<br />
