Carolina marble shaft, on <strong>Wright</strong> Brothers Hill, was<br />
dedicated August 19, 1940. It st<strong>and</strong>s on a high ridge<br />
between <strong>Wright</strong> <strong>and</strong> Patterson Air Force Bases <strong>and</strong><br />
overlooks the site <strong>of</strong> Huffman Prairie where the<br />
<strong>Wright</strong>s experimented with their planes <strong>of</strong> 1904 <strong>and</strong><br />
1905 <strong>and</strong> where many <strong>of</strong> the early Army flyers were<br />
trained.<br />
