Fourth Annual Guide to Top Military Friendly
Colleges & Universities for the third year
in a row, and was selected by the U.S. Army
as one of thirty-one schools nationwide
to participate in their Enlisted Education
Program. FTCC was selected as one of the
first sixteen colleges in the U.S. to be an
educational provider to the Army University
Access Online, which has become the
GoArmyEd Program. The college is now
offering MOS-related associate degrees
(military occupational specialty), which offer
opportunities for military members to receive
academic credits for prior military training
and experience.
FTCC is also a Servicemembers Opportunity
College, speaking further to its military
friendly approach. Servicemembers and their
family members are provided with appropriately
accredited educational programs, courses
and services; flexibility of programs and
procedures, particularly in admissions, counseling
and credit transfer; and recognition of
nontraditional learning experiences and
course scheduling.
Military personnel, spouses and dependents
who want to improve their skills for
professional advancement or personal enrichment
have many options through Fayetteville
Tech, including face-to-face, hybrid and
online classes; worldwide support; and seamless
transfer processes. Specialized military
and veterans advising teams provide support
to help finance military educations with ease
and manage the challenges of being a service
member and student. The FTCC Fort Bragg
Center is conveniently located on Fort Bragg
and provides counseling, registration and
testing services for the convenience of
military personnel and their families.
The Department of Defense offers the
Military Spouse Career Advancement Account
(MyCAA) program, which provides financial
assistance for military spouses who are
interested in pursuing degree programs,
licenses, certifications and education, leading
to careers in high growth, high-demand
portable career fields.
Military service members will also be
interested in the “Pathways to Second Service
in Health Programs,” to design pathways
for degree completion by maximizing credit
for military education and experience. The
programs are made possible by funds from the
North Carolina GlaxoSmithKline Foundation
for the purpose of developing a pilot program.
There are five bridge programs ready for
enrollment, including, EMS to Paramedic,
Accelerated Radiography, Advanced Placement
to Associate Degree Nursing, Associate Degree
in Surgical Technology and Associate Degree
in Respiratory Therapy.
