Defined Examples of Expected Behaviour at M.E. LaZerte High School
Academic Honesty Responsibilities & Expectations:
Academic Integrity is honest and responsible academic behavior. Students are expected to
submit original work, acknowledge sources, and conduct themselves ethically in the
completion of assessments and examinations. If a student has displayed academic
dishonesty, one or more of the following consequences may result:
● parent involvement;
● required appointments and/or projects through which the student must prove
understanding of the seriousness and impact of academic dishonesty;
● student may be required to complete another assignment/exam demonstrating
achievement of curriculum outcomes for grading purposes;
● reflection time in detention(s);
● academic probation – student must complete remaining assessments in that course
in alternative locations and at alternative times;
● suspension from extracurricular involvement (including teams, clubs, school events,
graduation activities);
● suspension from class(es) or school; and
● expulsion.
Alberta High School Requirements - The Why for Students
Students are responsible to take the sequence and combination of courses for a high school
diploma, but know that counsellors and administrators are here to help with this process.
To obtain a high school diploma in Alberta, a student must acquire:
● minimum 100 credits;
● English 30-1 or 30-2;
● Social Studies 30-1 or 30-2;
● Physical Education 10;
● Career and Life Management (CALM );
● 10 or more credits in Math (at least Math 20-1, 20-2, or 20-3);
