Defined Examples of Expected Behaviour at M.E. LaZerte High School<br />
Academic Honesty <strong>Responsibilities</strong> & <strong>Expectations</strong>:<br />
Academic Integrity is honest <strong>and</strong> responsible academic behavior. <strong>Student</strong>s are expected to<br />
submit original work, acknowledge sources, <strong>and</strong> conduct themselves ethically in the<br />
completion of assessments <strong>and</strong> examinations. If a student has displayed academic<br />
dishonesty, one or more of the following consequences may result:<br />
● parent involvement;<br />
● required appointments <strong>and</strong>/or projects through which the student must prove<br />
underst<strong>and</strong>ing of the seriousness <strong>and</strong> impact of academic dishonesty;<br />
● student may be required to complete another assignment/exam demonstrating<br />
achievement of curriculum outcomes for grading purposes;<br />
● reflection time in detention(s);<br />
● academic probation – student must complete remaining assessments in that course<br />
in alternative locations <strong>and</strong> at alternative times;<br />
● suspension from extracurricular involvement (including teams, clubs, school events,<br />
graduation activities);<br />
● suspension from class(es) or school; <strong>and</strong><br />
● expulsion.<br />
Alberta High School Requirements - The Why for <strong>Student</strong>s<br />
<strong>Student</strong>s are responsible to take the sequence <strong>and</strong> combination of courses for a high school<br />
diploma, but know that counsellors <strong>and</strong> administrators are here to help with this process.<br />
To obtain a high school diploma in Alberta, a student must acquire:<br />
● minimum 100 credits;<br />
● English 30-1 or 30-2;<br />
● Social Studies 30-1 or 30-2;<br />
● Physical Education 10;<br />
● Career <strong>and</strong> Life Management (CALM );<br />
● 10 or more credits in Math (at least Math 20-1, 20-2, or 20-3);<br />
