Student Expectations and Responsibilities 2019-2020 Handbook

Food Service- Milton’s and The Canoe Responsibilities and Expectations:
● Milton’s is one of the multi-purpose areas in our school and is used as both a
teaching/learning area as well as place for individual/small study groups to complete
work;
● They are open for food services during the school day and our intent is to have
healthy food choices at a reasonable cost. This can include fruit smoothies, veggies,
salads, paninis, sandwiches, pasta, and hot food meals for $6 or less;
● These facilities are a service to our students and respect is expected. Please be
courteous - don’t buy for friends and don’t cut in line;
● They are intended as areas for learning and eating; card playing is not allowed during
instructional time;
● They are part of our school home, so please clean your table and push in your chair
upon leaving;
● They accept cash and debit along with ID cards (which can be loaded up with
money to spend in the cafeteria); and
● An ATM is located outside of Milton’s for student use.
Fourth Year of High School Responsibilities and Expectations:
Edmonton Public Schools may allow students, who meet the criteria, to attend their
designated high school for a fourth year. At M.E. LaZerte, opportunities for a fourth year
are very limited because of space but students still have the option to attend Centre High,
Argyll, Outreach/Learning Stores and Metro Continuing Education. Students should meet
with their counsellor if they want to explore this possibility.
Friday Prayer Responsibilities and Expectations:
We offer the opportunity for students to pray in community on Fridays during the lunch
break. Students who participate in prayer are expected to attend all classes on time.
