in the halls during class time must be in possession of a hall pass or they may receive a
consequence. Students who have spares:
● are not to be in hallways, stairwells, or the atrium;
● can leave the school or go to Milton’s, the Library or Fitness Centre; and
● can wait outside the front school doors during decent weather or in the front foyer
outside the main office in cold weather so they do not disrupt in session classes.
Information Access Responsibilities and Expectations:
At M.E. LaZerte, we believe that students are most successful when students, parents, and
staff work as a team, and parents will always be informed about student progress and
issues. When a student turns 18, he/she is entitled to make a choice about whether or not
the school continues to have contact with parents and/or guardians. At M.E. LaZerte
High School, we will continue to have contact with parents and or guardians until a student
completes their schooling with us. If a student turns 18 years of age during the school year
and does not want us to have parents and/or guardians as our primary contact, it is the
student’s responsibility to notify our office at that time. Together the student and
administrator will contact parents to make them aware.
Injuries & First Aid Responsibilities and Expectations:
Your safety is our utmost concern, and many processes are in place to ensure student safety
& wellness. Students must report any injuries immediately to the teacher in charge of an
activity or to the main office. We have multiple people at the school who are first aid
trained and our intent is to always make sure our students are cared for in a safe learning
environment. A written report of any accident will be completed by the teacher or
administrator and parents will be notified.
Library Responsibilities and Expectations:
The library is open from 8 am to 4 pm Monday to Friday. We encourage students to use
our quiet space to do research, homework, assignments or to relax and read. We offer
desktop computers, charging stations as well as a wide range of print resources. Check out
