<strong>Student</strong> Evaluation & Progress Reports <strong>Responsibilities</strong> <strong>and</strong> <strong>Expectations</strong> :<br />

<strong>Student</strong>s receive an overview of course objectives at the beginning of each course through<br />

a Course Outline that shares the following information:<br />

● Evaluation procedures <strong>and</strong> weighting for a given course are consistent within each<br />

course level;<br />

● <strong>Student</strong>s will be made aware of the evaluation practices at the beginning of each<br />

course;<br />

● The staff recognizes the need for using a variety of appropriate assessment<br />

techniques such as teacher observation, teacher-student discussions, assignments,<br />

projects <strong>and</strong> tests for measuring student development <strong>and</strong> learning;<br />

● A scheduled exam week at the end of each semester is a part of the normal<br />

evaluation process at M.E. LaZerte. <strong>Student</strong>s should not plan activities or<br />

appointments that conflict with scheduled exams. All exams must be written as<br />

scheduled;<br />

● Alberta Education Grade 12 Diploma Examinations will account for 30% of the<br />

final grade in English 30-1/30-2, Social Studies 30-1/30-2, Mathematics 30-1/30-2,<br />

Biology 30, Chemistry 30, Physics 30 <strong>and</strong> Science 30; <strong>and</strong><br />

● Please see the school website or SchoolZone for the dates that Individual <strong>Student</strong><br />

Reports <strong>and</strong> Progress Reports will be made available on SchoolZone.<br />

<strong>Student</strong> Leadership & <strong>Student</strong>s’ Union <strong>Responsibilities</strong> <strong>and</strong> <strong>Expectations</strong>:<br />

<strong>Student</strong> Leadership activities will continue to foster the involvement <strong>and</strong> participation of all<br />

students in a variety of school activities <strong>and</strong> assist us in building a positive culture. We<br />

welcome any students who wish to assist our school in student activities. M.E. LaZerte<br />

provides a variety of activities such as Science Olympics, Gratitude activities, Green Team,<br />

Touch of Class, LaZerte Idol, <strong>and</strong> Taste of LaZerte as well as frequent theme days. The<br />

student activities planned for the school year are designed to foster the involvement <strong>and</strong><br />

participation of students. We look forward to all students taking part in our school events<br />
