grassy area facing the parking lot during class time.
Student Evaluation & Progress Reports Responsibilities and Expectations :
Students receive an overview of course objectives at the beginning of each course through
a Course Outline that shares the following information:
● Evaluation procedures and weighting for a given course are consistent within each
course level;
● Students will be made aware of the evaluation practices at the beginning of each
course;
● The staff recognizes the need for using a variety of appropriate assessment
techniques such as teacher observation, teacher-student discussions, assignments,
projects and tests for measuring student development and learning;
● A scheduled exam week at the end of each semester is a part of the normal
evaluation process at M.E. LaZerte. Students should not plan activities or
appointments that conflict with scheduled exams. All exams must be written as
scheduled;
● Alberta Education Grade 12 Diploma Examinations will account for 30% of the
final grade in English 30-1/30-2, Social Studies 30-1/30-2, Mathematics 30-1/30-2,
Biology 30, Chemistry 30, Physics 30 and Science 30; and
● Please see the school website or SchoolZone for the dates that Individual Student
Reports and Progress Reports will be made available on SchoolZone.
Student Leadership & Students’ Union Responsibilities and Expectations:
Student Leadership activities will continue to foster the involvement and participation of all
students in a variety of school activities and assist us in building a positive culture. We
welcome any students who wish to assist our school in student activities. M.E. LaZerte
provides a variety of activities such as Science Olympics, Gratitude activities, Green Team,
Touch of Class, LaZerte Idol, and Taste of LaZerte as well as frequent theme days. The
student activities planned for the school year are designed to foster the involvement and
participation of students. We look forward to all students taking part in our school events
