● privately <strong>and</strong> will not share my <strong>Student</strong> Network Logon password with anyone. I<br />
will log out when I’m finished <strong>and</strong> when I’m out of sight of my computer; <strong>and</strong><br />
● respectfully <strong>and</strong> I will not access others’ accounts <strong>and</strong> I will not create, use, display<br />
or store any offensive, obscene, inflammatory or defamatory language or images.<br />
I will not:<br />
● use technology in any way that negatively affects any other student or person,<br />
including not taking unauthorized pictures or videos in the school <strong>and</strong> not re-posting<br />
inappropriate pictures or messages;<br />
● bring in food or drinks into labs or the library (water bottle with lid is permitted);<br />
<strong>and</strong><br />
● participate in horseplay in any environment around technology.<br />
For students bringing their own personal electronic device to school, all of the rules above<br />
apply. In addition, when using my personal device(s), I will:<br />
● only connect to school wireless network, <strong>and</strong> not to the school’s wired network, nor<br />
any other (external) wireless network;<br />
● have virus protection software which is up-to-date;<br />
● turn off all peer-to-peer (music/video/file-sharing) software or web-hosting services;<br />
● follow teacher rules in class;<br />
● take responsibility for my device(s) <strong>and</strong> its care – the school is not responsible for<br />
the loss, theft, or damage of my device(s); <strong>and</strong><br />
● underst<strong>and</strong> that personnel from the school <strong>and</strong> District Technology may access my<br />
personal electronic device if there are reasonable grounds to believe that there has<br />
been a breach of school rules or discipline policies <strong>and</strong> that a search of the device<br />
would reveal evidence of that breach. This may include (but is not limited to)<br />
audio/video recording <strong>and</strong>/or photographs taken on school property that violate the<br />
privacy of others, could be perceived as bullying, etc.<br />
For students with access to My.epsb.ca <strong>Student</strong> Portal – I underst<strong>and</strong>:<br />
● my first <strong>and</strong> last name will be used by Edmonton Public Schools to create a Google<br />
Share account. I will be given exclusive rights to this account through the student<br />
portal;<br />
