Student Expectations and Responsibilities 2019-2020 Handbook

Coffee & Conversation is the name of our parent advisory group and all parents are welcome
at our morning meetings that happen approximately every six weeks. Watch for these to be
advertised in our Principal Weekly Email (sign up on our website).
Parking & Drop Off Responsibilities and Expectations:
It is a student privilege to park in the school lot, and students must be aware that there are
Handicapped and Maintenance stalls that are for specialized use. Students are to be
dropped off in the parking lot on the east side of the school (not the staff parking lot).
There is no student parking at the Londonderry Leisure Centre. The north side of the
roadway in front of the school on 144th Avenue is clearly marked as a no stopping zone.
Parents wishing to drop off or pick up students in front of the school on 144th Avenue
must do so past the west crosswalk where parking and stopping is allowed. Students are
reminded that there is no loitering in the parking lot at any time.
Progress Reporting Responsibilities and Expectations:
In an effort to safeguard our environment and to promote much more accurate and
efficient reporting practices, M.E. LaZerte uses paperless reporting. An update on student
progress is posted during the last week of each month. Please ensure that you access
SchoolZone on a continual basis for evaluation and attendance results. Should you require
assistance in obtaining and/or using SchoolZone please contact the school at 780.408.9800.
In addition, you are encouraged to communicate with your classroom teacher(s) to
regularly inquire about student progress and attendance. The most effective means of
communication with staff is via email, and our District email format is simply
firstname.lastname@epsb.ca
