If the hotel has a gym, I get in there and use it. Of<br />
course, hotel gyms are usually pretty pathetic. They<br />
don’t have very heavy weights, they might not have a<br />
pull-up bar or a dip bar, and they are generally<br />
small. But I get in there and improvise. I will do<br />
what I can to reproduce my real workout. Due to a<br />
lack of weight, my workout usually consists of lower<br />
weights and higher reps. If there is any kind of<br />
pull-up bar, I utilize it. If not, sometimes I will<br />
hang a towel over one of the machines in the gym and<br />
do pull-ups on that. Many times I have done dips<br />
between two treadmills. I will use benches to jump<br />
over or on, jump ropes to push the heart rate up, and<br />
any other object they have in the gym that I can use<br />
to get my blood flowing.<br />
I consider these workouts more of a maintenance<br />
routine than a workout that will result in serious<br />
progression.<br />
Sometimes, the hotel doesn’t have a gym or it is just<br />
worthless, or I have a very tight schedule and don’t<br />
have much time. In those cases, I often just do a<br />
hotel room workout on the floor.<br />
The hotel room workouts are rudimentary and, again,<br />
are usually not geared toward any great advancement<br />
in my physical conditioning. They are more focused on<br />
maintaining the discipline of working out early, and<br />
getting the benefits that <strong>com</strong>e from working out:<br />
blood flow to the brain, releasing endorphins, and<br />
