Climate Change - A Proposal

No one can disagree that climate change
is a major topic for discussion. Whether
you are a proponent that climate change is
real and action must be taken or you are an
equally passionate opponent that climate change is pure fantasy, the
conversation itself invokes a great deal of emotion!
So, who’s right? Let’s explore both possibilities.
If climate change is not real, I have one question – What If You’re
Wrong? Answer: Every living person and thing on this planet will cease
to exist. The question is only when, NOT if!
To be fair, the other part of that question should be, what if the
supporters of climate change are wrong? Answer: We Still Thrive!
My proposed solution to satisfy both sides is to state quite emphatically
– there is nothing wrong with making money and saving the planet at
the same time!

By enlisting private business (as opposed to the government) investing
their assets in creating new and innovative technologies and then
deploying those technologies through their existing infrastructure, a
new business paradigm shift can be created that can raise the standard
of living for millions of people.
There are currently over 750 million internal combustion powered
vehicles travelling on the roads. Those vehicles are powered by carbon
footprint emissions that are contributing heavily to climate change.
How? By spewing carbon monoxide, sulphur and diesel matter into
the atmosphere unchecked, the poisonous fumes are slowly, but surely,
killing the planet.
Oil companies can be blamed because they produce the fuels that
are causing the problem. But, they are also the solution. They can
immediately deploy “clean burning” fuels such as natural gas and
biodiesel through their already existing pipelines.
And they can do so quickly. I know that because that is what I spent
17 years of my career focusing on – developing and deploying clean
burning fuels in the transportation sector!
On the other hand, the politicians who support government
intervention claim that we must spend at least $17 trillion dollars to
mitigate the carbon footprint. If they do that, they will bankrupt the
planet and subjugate billions of us to abject poverty!
That is no solution, even if they’re right. Save the planet and starve
us all?
Let business intervene and eliminate the problem. They also will
create new high paying jobs that currently do not exist. They just may
give us our cake and let us eat it too!
