The Interview:

Marie-France

Lalonde

What do you love most about the Heart of Orléans?

First and foremost, I love the history of the Heart of

Orléans. This part of our community represents the

foundation of our Francophone roots. I also like that

it is a place of gathering with festivities enabling our

community to celebrate our district.

What makes the Heart of Orléans the perfect spot to

locate a business?

With the LRT coming to our community, businesses

will continue to thrive and further expand. We also

have a plan to revitalize St-Joseph Boulevard and

renew the Community Improvement Plan (CIP) to

assist with future investments.

Name a new business you would like to see in the

Heart of Orléans.

- Restaurant (boutique style)

- Café (local entrepreneur)

- Clothing (local designer)

Who (living or departed) do you admire most

and why?

Jean Chrétien – person with integrity, frank and

strong believer in this great country. Very capable and

competent

My parents – giving me the possibilities and

believing in me

Steve Jobs – because of a belief that we mutually

share: “It does not make sense to hire smart people

and tell them what to do; we hire smart people so they

can tell us what to do.”

What’s the most interesting thing about you that we

wouldn’t learn from this interview alone?

I would like to learn how to fly a plane

What’s your secret talent?

I can do a one-handed cartwheel.
