A Guide to
Netflix’s
Latino TV
Shows
In modern television, it is very rare to find series that prominently feature Latino
Americans stories and casts. With the exception of shows like Freeform’s reboot of
“Party of Five” and FX’s “Sons of Anarchy” spinoff, “Mayans M.C.,” the amount of
representation Latinos get is few and far between. However, Netflix makes up for this
including many different shows focused on the Latino experience.
Here is a quick guide to the shows both old and new that Netflix has to offer.

Following the trial for the murder of an
eight-year-old boy by his parents, this
documentary questions how the system
looks after children in terrible situations.
Though not the most fun viewing, “The
Trials of Gabriel Fernandez” looks at an
important topic and isn’t afraid to shy
away from the disturbing details.
Siguiendo el juicio por el asesinato de
un niño de ocho años, cometido por su
madre y el novio de esta, este documental
cuestiona el cómo el sistema cuida a los
niños en situaciones no favorecedoras.
Aunque no es tan divertido, “The trials
of Gabriel Fernandez” examina un tema
importante y no escatima en acercarse a los
detalles más inquietantes.
