held an online forum at Jeonbuk
National University's Humanities and
Social Sciences building on August
27 with the theme of “Global Jeonbuk,
Meet Public Diplomacy”.
In the third part, a final screening of
the UCC contest was held for Jeollabukdo’s
university students. Among the
videos submitted from June to August,
six representative teams, which
passed through preliminary screening,
attended the site to introduce each
video. The teams introduced their
videos to the judges, all of whom
(teams and judges) participated in
person or online.
전라북도국제교류센터와 전북대학교-KF공공외교
역량강화 대학은 지난 8월 27일, 전북대학교
인문사회관에서 글로벌 전북, 공공외교를 만나다 라는
주제로 비대면 포럼 행사를 개최 하였다.
본 행사의 1부는 “한국의 공공외교 이론과 실제” 라는
주제로 의견제시와 토론이 진행되었다. 전북대학교
박성용교수, 강정석 교수, KDI 김유리 전문위원 등
국내 공공외교 분야의 최고 전문가들이 안보부터 국가
브랜딩, 해외 한국학 진흥 등 공공외교와 접목할 수 있는
다양한 분야에 대해 논의 하였다.
The first part of the event was
discussed with the theme of "Theory
and Truth of Korea's Public Diplomacy."
Top experts of public diplomacy in
Korea, including Professor Sung-yong
Park of Jeonbuk National University,
Professor Jeong-seok Kang, and Yu-ri
Kim, a member of the KDI, and others,
discussed various areas that can be
combined with public diplomacy,
ranging from security to national
branding, and the promotion of Korean
Studies abroad.
As a presentation of specialized
institutions for public diplomacy, the
second part was organized to introduce
the Korea Foundation (KF), the
Jeollabuk-do Center for International
Affairs (JBCIA), and the ASEAN-
Korea Cooperation Fund (AKCF). In
addition to the main business of each
institution, speakers also introduced
their future directions of domestic
public diplomacy in response to
the Post-Corona era, and held an
employment-related question-andanswer
session for university students
who participated that day.
Yeon-chul Ha, who combined
international development cooperation
(official development assistance) with
public diplomacy upon visiting Uganda
for a volunteer work opportunity, won
the grand prize. The team ‘Diplomat Lv.1’,
who shot a video so that Jeollabuk-do
residents can easily approach public
diplomacy with international students,
and the Engineering stduent team got
the Excellence Award. Syed Ajim, who
introduced the theoretical concept of
public diplomacy and his opinions to
viewers, and two other teams received
the Participation prize.
Young-ho Lee, the director of the JBCIA,
said, “We thank more than 50 people
for accessing Zoom and attending
today despite the sudden change of
location. As I was watching the UCC
contest videos, I was proud that not
only university students in Jeollabuk-do
but also international students showed
outstanding capabilities. For the next
number of years, there will be a bright
future in Jeollabuk-do.”
2부는 공공외교 전문기관 설명회로, 한국국제교류재단
(KF), 전라북도국제교류센터, 그리고 한-
아세안협력기금을 소개하는 자리가 마련되었다. 이
시간에는 각 기관의 메인 사업 내용뿐만 아니라, 포스트
코로나 시대에 대응하는 우리 국내 공공외교 기관들의
앞으로의 사업 운영 방항에 대해서 소개하고, 금일 참여한
대학생들을 위한 취업 관련 질의 응답 시간을 가졌다.
3부는 전라북도의 대학생들의 UCC 공모전 본선 심사가
개최 되었다. 지난 6~8월 접수된 영상들 중 사전심사를
거쳐 통과된 6개 팀의 대표가 현장에 참석하여 각 영상에
대한 소개를 한 뒤, 대면, 비대면으로 참석한 심사위원,
모든 참가자들에게 영상을 선보였다.
수상은 우간다 해외봉사활동을 다녀온 것을 계기로
국제개발협력분야와 공공외교를 접목하여 소개한
“하연철”군이 최우수상을, 외국인 유학생과 함께
전라북도민이 쉽게 공공외교에 다가갈 수 있도록
영상을 제작한 외교관 Lv.1팀과 공대생 팀이 우수상을
수상하였고, 공공외교의 이론적인 개념, 자신이 생각하는
공공외교에 대한 의견을 영상에 담아 시청자들에게
소개하였던 Syed Ajim과 2개 팀이 장려상을 수상하였다.
이영호 센터장은, “사회적 거리두기 2단계 실시로 급히
장소를 변경하였음에도 50명이 넘는 인원들이 Zoom
으로 접속하여 참여해 주심에 감사의 말씀을 드리며,
본행사 중 대학생 UCC 공모전 영상을 보니 도내
대학생뿐 아니라 외국인 유학생까지 뛰어난 역량을
발휘함에 자랑스럽게 생각한다. 향후 글로벌 전라북도에
대한 밝은 미래가 열릴것으로 보인다.” 라고 언급하였다.
