Welcome: Ground Rules with poster
Psalm 147: 3, ASL, discuss and pray.
Session Log: Rev. 21:4, discuss and pray.
Check-In: what are ways that we can continue to
show our love for someone who is no longer here? –
Memorialize.
FOCUS: (Approximately 55 minutes)
(10) Shoes: choose a pair of shoes (picture) that
reminds you of your decedent and stand on it. Why
did you choose that pair? What would you like to
say to him or her? What would he or she say back to
you?
(10) Love You Forever: OS p. 36. We can make our
love visible even though our decedents aren’t here.
(15) A Special Letter: OS p. 37. Photocopy each
child’s letter to put in the special doily envelope. See
LG.
(20) Jenga: this a fully engaging way to review what
is hard about grief for a kid and what a kid can do to
help him or herself heal. The tower gets more and
more fragile, just like us. We know it’s going to fall.
Keep the camera ready. Take a group photo with the
rebuilt tower to put in a frame and autograph next
time.
