OPEN: (Approximately 30 minutes)
Welcome: Ground Rules with poster
ASL: Psalm 147:3, discuss and pray.
Session Log: Proverbs 3:5 NLT, discuss and pray.
Check-In: roll a multi-colored die. Have Wilma, the
Pop-Up puppet, talk about the topic that matches the
color on the top side of the die.
Red = feelings of grief
Blue = griefwork
Yellow = grief behaviors
FOCUS: (Approximately 55 minutes)
(10) Dreams: OS p. 29. Have you dreamt about your
decedent? How did you feel when you woke up?
What are choices that we can make about dealing
with our dreams?
(30) Make Dream Catchers: Choose dream catchers
suitable to the skill level of your group. There is a
large variety. See LG.
(10) My Circle of Support: OS p. 30. Who “is there”
for you to talk to? Not all kids have a good circle of
support. How can we help them?
(5) My Safe Place: OS p. 31. Why do we need a safe
place? Can everyone have one? When do you go
there?
