Although this book does not assume prior knowledge of deep learning, it is not a foundational
introduction to deep learning. We cover the basics, but our focus is on proficiency
with the PyTorch library. We encourage interested readers to build up an intuitive understanding
of deep learning either before, during, or after reading this book. Toward that

great resource for developing a strong mental model and intuition about the mechanism
underlying deep neural networks. For a thorough introduction and reference, we direct
