Steven KinDetroit, USAI am a fourth generation Chinese American, whose family comes fromthe Toisan region of Canton. These cups use take-out box iconographyand mix them with images from jobs worked by Asian immigrants tosupport their families.About Steven Kin@s_kinSteven Kin is a Detroit based artist. They make functional ceramic workbased on the process of creating and firing ceramics, and are currentlyfocused on making pots based on issues in the Asian Americandiaspora. Most of their work is fired in soda and wood firedatmospheres. Steven went to school at College for Creative Studies inDetroit, graduating in 2019 with a BFA majoring in Ceramics and aminor in Product Design.11
