Dear diary
they could. The good and benefits
from this one year of school are
going to far outweigh the impacts
of their contemporaries whom never
stepped foot in a school all year.
Summer Time
(June & July)
allowing our kids to have a spring
music concert with guests and
spectators. The kids finally got to
take pictures with their teachers, in
which we could see their beautiful,
smiling faces; and, most importantly,
they completed a year of school
when so many said they couldn’t! I’m
so thankful our kids attend a school
that went to bat for them and put their
needs and priorities above their own
and taught and allowed them to be kids
and have as much of a normal year as
How enjoyable having our
kids home this summer,
doing kid things! They
have enjoyed playing in
the dirt, swinging, practicing
baseball and basketball skills,
swimming, working with their show
heifers, helping their dad at the farm,
exploring and simply fighting and arguing
with their siblings. As I think about the
events which have unfolded before me
this past year, I can’t help but think they
were a gift from God, and one I never
knew I needed.
As COVID-19 ravaged our country, I
found myself in the trenches trying to
