“Labor is always a concern when you
start a new business, especially with so
many jobs available right now, but one
thing that sets us apart from other packing
plants is that everything we have is brand
new and state-of-the-art,” he said. “For
example, our whole building will be temperature
controlled, which is not always the
case in other facilities.”
Despite the numerous challenges this
project has created, the Naeves are excited
with the progress they are making.
“This has been fun. It is fun to connect
with so many different people and learn
from them and to try things we have never
done before. We think it can be a game
changer for our family and community,
and this model could change a lot in the
packing industry.”
The family hopes to have the new plant
and retail shop up and going by next summer
and from there will look at contracting
with local grocery stores, restaurants, and
lockers to feature their products. They also
hope to develop an online store where meat
bundles can be purchased and shipped. n
