FREESTYLE ACADEMY
Im Rahmen des rocksresort-Ausbaus wird im Frühjahr 2022 die
beliebte Freestyle Academy abgerissen und Bauschritt für Bauschritt
in die Tiefe befördert. Um Tageslicht zu generieren, wird mit Ober- und
Seitenlicht gearbeitet. Die Planer erweitern die Halle um mehr als 400
Quadratmeter, am Ende werden es ganze 1 500 Quadratmeter pures Vergnügen
sein. Für die Zeit des Umbaus ist eine Zwischenlösung geplant.
Angedacht ist eine mobile Industriehalle, die ein reduziertes Angebot
offeriert. Wo das sein wird, steht noch zur Diskussion. Fertigstellung:
Winter 2023/2024.

UNDER CONSTRUCTION
Freestyle Academy
As part of the rocksresort expansion, the
popular Freestyle Academy will be demolished
in the spring of 2022, and gradually
rebuilt downwards. To provide daylight, overhead
and side lighting is to be used. Planners
have expanded the indoor space by more than
400 square metres, resulting in a total of 1,500
square metres being available for fun and
enjoyment. For the period under reconstruction,
an interim solution is being planned. A
mobile industrial building is under consideration
that will at least provide a limited range of
services. Its location is still under discussion.
Completion: Winter 2023/24.

the many construction cranes, workers and lorries.
What’s going on there? We’ll tell you, as well as about
other WAG construction projects.
Was in puncto Architektur noch vor einigen
Jahren die lokalen Gemüter erhitzte, hat
sich architektonisch bewährt, für Furore
gesorgt und Akzeptanz gefunden. Gerade
in seiner vielseitigen Nutzung ist das rocksresort
unschlagbar: Ob als solide Geldanlage,
Ferienretreat, Tagesausflugsziel, Spielwiese,
Shopping-Erlebnis oder Ort der Gaumenfreuden.
Die WAG und Domening Immobilien
(Architekten sowie Mitinvestoren) sind
vom Produkt überzeugt und erweitern auf
der Fläche der abgerissenen Freestyle Academy
das rocksresort um noch zwei weitere
Wohneinheiten. Fertigstellung: Winter
2023/2024.

ROCKSRESORT
Können Sie sich noch daran erinnern, wie es vor 13 Jahren am Ortseingang
von Laax Murschetg aussah? Anstelle des beliebten rocksresorts, der
Restaurants, Bars und Geschäfte befanden sich damals auf dem Areal rund
700 Parkplätze. Im Winter, an Spitzentagen, standen Autofahrer geduldig
in einer Kolonne, um für eine Seilbahnfahrt auf den Crap Sogn Gion
einen Parkplatz zu ergattern. Und heute? Im Sommer rollen Kinder mit
ihren Laufrädern über den Platz, Eltern geniessen in Sonnenstühlen das
entspannte Treiben und Youngsters probieren mit ihren Skateboards die
neuesten Tricks in der Bowl. In der kalten Jahreszeit passt sich der Platz
den Schneebedingungen an und behält seine gesellige Atmosphäre. Wer
hätte gedacht, dass aus einem eher unattraktiven Parkplatz später mal ein
«Place to be» werden wird? Verantwortlich für die Überbauung des Areals
war und ist die WAG, die viele Projekte in den letzten Jahren umgesetzt hat
und damit die Region prägt. Unter dem Leitsatz «we are on a mission» hat
das Unternehmen seine Ideen aber noch lange nicht ausgeschöpft.
Can you remember how things looked when entering Laax Murschetg 13
years ago? Back then there were around 700 parking spaces on the site instead
of the popular rocksresort, restaurants, bars and shops. On peak days in
winter, motorists patiently queued up to get a parking space before heading
up to Crap Sogn Gion. And today? In summer, you’ll see small children riding
their bikes across the space, parents enjoying the relaxed atmosphere in sun
loungers and teenagers trying out the latest skateboard tricks in the Bowl. In
the cold season, the site adapts to the snowy environment and continues to
offer a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. Who could have imagined that
an unattractive car park would eventually become the place to be?
The Weisse Arena Group (WAG), who have left their mark on the region
over the years with their many projects, was and remains responsible for
the development of the area. And under its motto "we are on a mission", the
company is certainly not running out of inspiration.

What stirred up local emotions just a few years ago has proven itself
architecturally, after causing a furore and then gaining acceptance.
The rocksresort is unbeatable, especially in its versatility as a sound
investment, holiday retreat, day trip destination, playground, shopping
experience or location for culinary delights. WAG and Domening Immobilien
(architects and co-investors) are confident about the project and are
expanding the rocksresort with two additional residential units on the
site of the demolished Freestyle Academy. Completion: Winter 2023/24.
