Enter the Green Building Index (“GBI”), which is a reputable green rating system
to encourage sustainability in the built environment, enhance public knowledge of
environmental issues, and foster a sense of responsibility for future generations.
Developed by Pertubuhan Akitek Malaysia (“PAM”) and the Association of
Consulting Engineers Malaysia (“ACEM”), GBI has the support of all the professional
institutes, relevant government agencies and the building/property industry. It is
the country’s first comprehensive rating system for evaluating the environmental
design and performance of Malaysian buildings based on six criteria: Energy
Efficiency, Indoor Environment Quality, Sustainable Site Planning & Management,
Materials & Resources, Water Efficiency, and Innovation.
