What will I learn?<br />
This course has been designed<br />
to give you the opportunity to<br />
explore a number of different<br />
topics and develop the essential<br />
skills and knowledge you need to<br />
work successfully in a business<br />
environment.<br />
You’ll explore how businesses<br />
operate, find out about different<br />
types of businesses and how they<br />
are managed and use financial<br />
tools to support growth and<br />
maximise profits. You will also<br />
discover how businesses use<br />
marketing to deliver sales and<br />
the importance good customer<br />
service and branding has on their<br />
reputation.<br />
You'll have the opportunity to<br />
interact and learn from some of the<br />
region's largest businesses and hear<br />
from inspirational entrepreneurs<br />
who will share their experiences<br />
with you.<br />

What will I learn?<br />
On this course you’ll learn the<br />
theory behind how businesses<br />
are run. This includes how and why<br />
businesses produce financial<br />
statements, finding out about<br />
successful marketing campaigns<br />
and events and the processes<br />
businesses go through when<br />
recruiting new staff. Along with<br />
your studies you will develop a<br />
range of skills that are highly sought<br />
after by all employers, such as<br />
time management, organisation,<br />
communication and resilience.<br />
1. Leadership and Management<br />
You will be given the opportunity<br />
to develop your leadership and<br />
management skills through a range<br />
of workshops, trips and visits and<br />
guest speakers who will share a<br />
wealth of knowledge and expertise<br />
with you to allow you to pursue<br />
a career in leadership and equip<br />
you with the skills, knowledge and<br />
behaviours needed to become<br />
the future leaders in the business<br />
world. You will also complete a<br />
CMI qualification to make you<br />
stand out in the jobs market.<br />
2. Digital Marketing<br />
Living in a digital world requires<br />
businesses to compete on a digital<br />
level. You will be working with<br />
leading businesses to develop<br />
your digital marketing skills<br />
and meet industry specialists<br />
who will show you the tricks of<br />
the trade. All students will also<br />
complete a Google Garage<br />
marketing qualification.<br />
3. People Management and Law<br />
It's important that businesses look<br />
after and develop their talent<br />
to ensure they are the most<br />
competitive business on the market.<br />
You will be working with industry<br />
specialists and securing a mentor<br />
from a local firm including a law<br />
firm which will help you learn about<br />
the actions businesses must take<br />
to stay within the boundaries of the<br />
law, how to recruit the best people<br />
to ensure you have the right skill<br />
set in your team, how to motivate<br />
your staff to reach their full potential<br />
and how to get people to work<br />
together to maximise results.<br />
4. Investment Finance and Accounting<br />
The world of finance is growing,<br />
from trading on the stock market,<br />
investment banking, financial<br />
planners to accountants, the<br />
demand for skilled staff is high.<br />
You will develop your finance skills<br />
and knowledge by attending<br />
work placements in a financial<br />
setting, working with local finance<br />
companies and having guest<br />
speakers come in to discuss careers<br />
and opportunities in the industry.<br />
Students will also complete an<br />
AAT accounting qualification.<br />
