<strong>Course</strong>s CONSTRUCTION. Plumbing Level 1 Duration 1 year Entry requirements Two GCSEs at 3 or above, ideally including English and maths or equivalent. What will I learn? This course is ideal for those wanting to enter the plumbing industry. You’ll have the opportunity to pick up some core knowledge and skills in basic plumbing, enabling you to progress onto the Level 2 course. You’ll cover a variety of topics including carrying out safe working practices, understanding fundamental scientific principles within building services engineering and understanding low carbon steel pipe fabrication work for domestic plumbing systems. Receive a weekly tutorial, take part in course enrichment activities and study English and maths at your appropriate level. Plumbing Studies Level 2 Duration 1 year Entry requirements Two GCSEs at 4 or above in English and maths. What will I learn? If you’d like to become a plumber, this course will give you an insight to the plumbing industry gaining the technical knowledge and skills required to undertake basic domestic plumbing work, including cold and hot water systems, sanitation and central heating. You’ll also gain an understanding of the importance of health and safety within the industry and will be able to take part in valuable work experience placements. Electro Technical Installation Level 2 Duration 1 year Entry requirements Two GCSEs at 4 or above, including English and maths. What will I learn? If you’d like to be an electrician, this course will give you an insight to the electrical industry gaining the technical knowledge and skills required to undertake basic domestic electrical work. You'll get to grips with lighting circuits, ring final circuits, cable sizing and how to add additional circuits to existing installations. You'll also gain an understanding of the importance of health and safety within the industry and have the chance to take part in valuable work experience. Don't worry if you haven't got a 4 in maths and English, we will help you achieve these as part of your course. 68
