T Level in Plumbing &<br />

Heating Engineering<br />

2 years<br />

Entry requirements<br />

Five GCSEs at 4 or above, including<br />

English, maths and science.<br />

What will I learn?<br />

This course is ideal for you if you’re<br />

not yet employed or looking to<br />

enter the industry post-mainstream<br />

education. This course focuses on<br />

the development of knowledge<br />

and skills needed for working in<br />

the building services engineering<br />

industry, which will prepare learners<br />

to enter the industry through<br />

employment or as an apprentice.<br />

You will develop the skills and<br />

knowledge in hot and cold water<br />

systems including central heating<br />

and gain an understanding of the<br />

importance of health and safety<br />

within the industry.<br />

You'll also get the chance to take<br />

part in valuable work experience.<br />

On completion of this course, you<br />

can progress onto higher education<br />

courses and further training.<br />

T Level in Electrotechnical<br />

Engineering<br />

Duration<br />

2 years<br />

Entry requirements<br />

Five GCSEs at 4 or above, including<br />

English, maths and science.<br />

What will I learn?<br />

This course is for anyone wanting a<br />

career in construction, specifically<br />

focusing on electrical installation. It<br />

will give you a great understanding<br />

of the construction industry,<br />

covering topics such as health<br />

and safety, construction science<br />

principles and sustainability.<br />

During the course you'll prepare<br />

and plan for working within the<br />

electrical industry. You will be taught<br />

all elements of electrical installation<br />

both domestic and commercial<br />

installs. With content covering<br />

health and safety, electrical<br />

installation theory, electrical<br />

science, working safely and<br />

understanding the<br />

design process.<br />

You will undertake 315 hours<br />

of work placement putting into<br />

practice what you’ve learned in<br />

the classroom. Working with some<br />

of the region’s key employers,<br />

you’ll get a taste of what it’s like<br />

to work onsite. The opportunities<br />

you will gain through your learning<br />

in college and your experience<br />

whilst on work placement will<br />

support you in gaining a job or<br />

an apprenticeship in electrical<br />

installation.<br />

T Levels are a new type of practical qualification<br />

designed by leading businesses.<br />

You’ll spend 80% of your time in the classroom and<br />

20% on an industrial placement with one or more<br />

of our construction partner employers.<br />
