TOP WINES
THE SECOND TASTING SESSION OF 2023
FULLY DELIVERED ON ITS PROMISE
Our spring and early summer tastings continued to draw as many entries, particularly as we
further broaden the spectrum by opening up the tastings to beers, ciders, fruit juices and flavoured
wines. This landmark development allows us to present you wines and drinks from an extensive
range of backgrounds, selected from a wide choice of several thousands of bottles from thirty-five
countries. As usual, France, Spain, Italy and Portugal are still in the majority but the New World,
particularly South America, along with Eastern Europe, also contributed to a significant degree.
THE UNIQUE VINEYARDS OF BOROVITZA IN THE NAMESAKE BULGARIAN VILLAGE. THE WINERY WAS ESTABLISHED BY
TWO RENOWNED WINEGROWERS, OGNYAN TSVETANOV AND ADRIANA SREBRINOVA
THE BEST OF SUMMER 2023
Our selection, tasted and scored by our tasting panel, is presented on pages 119 to 130. As is customary for
us, we have chosen to present the wines by country (Bulgaria, Italy…), then by appellation in each region,
with each winery or chateau listed by alphabetical order and in descending of the scores awarded. This
issue therefore features our selection of Bulgarian wines, Italian whites, outstanding Provence wines, South
African Sauvignons and Spanish rosés, the rising star of the international marketplace
