While I would prefer to slowly enjoy my lunch as an excuse to stay with the
Classics Club as long as possible, I know this can't last. No matter how
unpleasant it is, I need to return to the Manga Club soon.
Without noticing, I had already unwrapped and torn my bacon roll into bits,
and I now slowly picked them up one by one and fed them to my mouth. I'll
go once I'm finished with them all. Just when I'd decided to do that, Oreki,
who was in charge of watching the stall, opened his mouth.
"Ibara, you said you've read Agatha Christie's novels before, right?"
I was just about to wonder how he knew that when I remembered that I had
told him near the end of the summer holidays, during what Fuku-chan called
the "Empress" affair.
I stopped picking up the bacon roll pieces and said, "I did, but only her most
famous works. It's not like I've read all of her works."
"And The A.B.C. Murders is one of them?"
"Of course."
Crossing his arms, Oreki sat back deeply into his chair while brazenly staring
at the ceiling and said, "This 'Juumonji' incident, Satoshi said it's similar to
A.B.C...."
