Founded in 1950 by Virginio Cattaneo, Growermetal
is a renowned safety washer manufacturer with a
production that addresses the major areas of the
world. Run by the Cattaneo family since the beginning,
in 2021 the Italian company saw a significant change
in its corporate structure, with the introduction of new
managing professionals that have contributed to the
growth of the business in recent years, bringing the solid
name of the company in different application fields.
Thanks to the high request of Growermetal’s parts
within a variety of sectors, its market has recorded a
constant expansion across Europe and the world, from
the foundation of Growermetal USA, the North American
sales office located in Cleveland (Ohio) in 2014, followed
by the inauguration of Growermetal do Mercosul Ltda in
Curitiba (Brazil) in 2015.
Opening domestic production to the overseas
markets, the company has not only affirmed its role as
a leading European fastener producer, but seized the
opportunity to provide its services globally.
Today, Growermetal’s washers can be found in many
industries, ranging from the railway, aerospace and
automotive sector to power generation, construction,
oil&gas, electromechanical, transportation and earthmoving
machines. One of the main strengths of the
Italian manufacturer lies in its wide product range, which
includes over 4,500 standard washers, manufactured
according to DIN, UNI, ASME, NFE and other international
standards. Divided into two main families of products –
blanked parts and products made of wire – the line
includes washers with internal or external teeth, conical
elastic washers, flat washers, coiled spring washers,
spring washers for railway applications, corrugated
washers, electric terminal washers, spherical washers,
sealing push-in caps and other exclusive designs. All
the parts are available in different materials, including
carbon steel, stainless steel, aluminum, bronze, copper

and other alloys and raw materials upon customers’
requests.
But that’s only one part of the opportunities offered
by the company. Growermetal is able to provide exclusive
designs and items according to customers’ drawings
and specifications, thanks to its team of engineers
and experts that study the part, check the feasibility
and manufacture the products in competitive timing.
In addition to standard washers, today the company
manufactures more than 2,500 different special parts,
counting an overall production of more than 7,000 items,
all made in Italy and all produced for the European, US
and Canadian markets.
The in-house production plays a key role in this
service, as it allows Growermetal to deliver surface
treatments, coatings and testing, combined with the
internal tool shop, the R&D laboratory and the fully
automated warehouse. A system in line with the latest
regulations and norms, with a quality management
system certified according to the IATF 16949, EN 9100,
ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
By combining the wide product portfolio, structured
manufacturing processes and flexible and reliable
delivery services, Growermetal has shaped its mediumterm
