The journey continues
THE PATH THAT LED US TO THE FIRST PAPER ISSUE OF STV MAGAZINE
Our publishing company,
Vado e Torno Edizioni,
embraced the concept of
sustainability quite a long time
ago. In 2015, when it was not
yet as popular and widespread
as it is today the Sustainability
Index was created, with the
aim of making measurable not
only the ecological impact of
the vehicles we were testing
in our Supertests, but also
their features in terms of
innovation, safety, comfort,
recyclability of components,
to determine its social impact.
Another milestone in the history
of our publishing house was
the creation, in 2016, of the
Sustainable Truck of the Year
Awards (please have a look at
page 10) in the three categories
Tractor, Distribution, and
Van. The Awards are assigned yearly to the vehicles that most stand
out for innovation and sustainability. In the wake of these experiences,
and not only in the freight sector – it is also worth to mention the
successful Sustainable Bus platform – the initiatives have continued
over the years. In June 2021, the Sustainable Truck&Van website
made its online debut.
Riding the wave of an energy transition that is still at the very early
stage, at least for trucks, our platform has established itself as a point
of reference in the debate on the new generation of zero-emission
vehicles worldwide, focusing its attention not only on technology –
which is crucial in our vision – but also, for instance, dealing with
the sector regulations, as well as market trends on a global scale.
Sustainable Truck&Van Magazine, freely available online in its
digital version and distributed at the major international exhibitions,
starting from Solutrans in Lyon, is intended to be a further step in a
sustainable journey that will always see us acting as frontrunners.

Heavy-duty fleet managers agree: the total cost of ownership (TCO) for hydrogenfueled
trucks will soon match diesel vehicles. To put H2 trucks on the roads at scale,
