be no better and more effective statement to
illustrate the qualities and talents of the Blue
Oval’s 100 percent electric commercial vehicle.
The first in a family of zero-emission
vans that is expanding to include the Custom
and, later, the Courier (see box on page 42).
In about half a century (to be exact, fifty-eight
years) there is the story of a model, the Transit
precisely, which was first launched in 1965,
heir to a tradition that has its roots at the dawn
of the last century (Ford’s first commercial vehicle
is from 1905). The Transit rapidly established
itself at every latitude in international
large and small markets, until it became by far
the best-selling light model in the world.
It is the world’s best selling light commercial vehicle, a true
best seller that has been making the history of light duty
transportation for the last 58 years. It is logical, then, that in the
transition to zero-emission vehicles, Ford has built its first full
electric van on the very basis of its most iconic model.

and doing transportation in the city.

It is natural, then, that the E-Transit has inherited
from its progenitor the DNA together with
robustness, versatility and reliability on which
it intends to leverage to prolong over time the
splendid tale of a model that has no equal. Not
a single version, but a true zero-emission family
with 25 richly equipped variants resulting
from the combination of two power outputs,
three lengths and two heights. With the peace
of mind given by over 300 kilometers of range.
