My To Do List Got Done<br />

At the end of every year, we check off all the<br />
things we promised to do in January. It either<br />
is, or it isn’t realistic when we first start out, but<br />
as we get older, we don’t set the bar quite as<br />
high anymore.<br />
Most of us set weight or exercise goals<br />
and/or ways to budget more efficiently. I<br />
passed on all three.<br />
My focus went to the closet, the overloaded<br />
cabinets, expired drugs, cleaning the junk<br />
out of my computer, calling the shredder<br />
guy and general miscellaneous chores I<br />
never found time to do.<br />
When I hit the closet, I found some<br />
beautiful clothes that cost a fortune 20 to 30<br />
years ago. Some were fat clothes and some<br />
were skinny clothes.<br />
How about a wedding dress? And the<br />
shoes, and the handmade sheer jacket that<br />
went over it? More designer things with padded shoulders too. What’s<br />
a girl to do?<br />
Then there’s the garage. It now has lovely leaves blowing in and<br />
hiding behind the boxes I have to save just in case the world comes to<br />
an end. Every time I think it’s OK to give away or trash things, I know<br />
in one month (or less) I will need it again.<br />
Anyway, it’s either too windy, too hot, too cold or too close to dinner<br />
time.<br />
I’ve written about this many times in one<br />
form or another so to anyone sharing my<br />
experience, or lack thereof, I understand<br />
your pain. LOL.<br />
But the most important accomplishment<br />
was training our golden retriever for her<br />
Canine Good Citizen certification and then<br />
her Therapy Dog certification so she can<br />
go to events. She is also a service dog, so<br />
all around, she reached her goals even if I<br />
didn’t do all of mine.<br />
So, Ginger the wonder dog and my Louie<br />
dog will celebrate the end of the year still<br />
together and not worry about the list for<br />
2024. We’ll just recycle the one from 2023.<br />
