The offer is growing: Three cable variants
R&M is currently launching three new
cable constructions that are characterized
by their resilience and are used in
mobile applications such as broadcasting,
the military or in other industrial areas.
Rugged MiniCore multifiber cables:
They are suitable for direct MPO connector
assembly or, by means of a distribution
element, for the termination of
individual connectors, suitable for R&M
HEC connectivity.
Rugged TWIN fiber MiniBreakout cables:
In the case of robust cables, two fibers are
routed in one cable. This means that two
600μm buffered fibers are securely embedded
in aramid yarn and packaged in the
PUR sheath. This cable construction is also
designed for direct connector assembly
on the HEC-QR, or HEC-BR, each for LC
Duplex use.
Rugged Breakout 2f/4f cables:
These cables are available as 1.7 mm
twin or quad cord. They are also suitable
for direct connector mounting on the
SC connector insert from the HEC Connectivity
series.

range of gel free loose tube cables, which
are crosswise and longitudinally watertight
and can therefore be used for all purposes, is
now completed. In addition, these cable constructions
have a Cca CPR classification as a
minimum. As a further example, longitudinal
stripes can be extruded into the casing for
color coding. For instance, longitudinal stripes
in orange are a standard requirement in Switzerland
and identify a fiber optic cable for
use outdoors. Thanks to a range of different
colors for the longitudinal stripes and sheath
materials, the cables can be manufactured
to satisfy customer and application-specific
requirements.
