Robust and modular system solution
A wide range of solution modules is available
for the above-ground expansion of fiber optic
links: Robust power cables pre-terminated
on one or both sides, including IP-protected
optical plugs, connectors and adapters as
well as distribution cabinets and ZOONA
splices for pole mounting, each optimized
for the various network levels. They are
complemented by the Polaris box family
for fiber optic terminations and outlets for
connecting the last meters.
Rugged connectors
The outdoor connectors HEC-BR and HEC-
QR in protection class IP68 are unique. They
are designed for extreme environmental
conditions and can withstand operating temperatures
ranging from -40 to 85°C. They are
also UV-resistant and offer push locking and
twist-pull release. The HEC connectors are
available as SC, LC duplex and MPO versions.
A new addition is the TAP box with IP67 protection
rating, which not only offers IP-protected
adapters and pre-terminated cables,
but is also certified for one incoming and up
to six outgoing fiber optic connections. Ideal
for cabling between mast and terminal/box/
building are drop cables – fiber optic cables
with a low to medium number of fibers, a dry
construction and a UV-stable outer sheath.
ZOONA: flexible for the last mile
From spring 2024, the ZOONA STP12
with 144 splices will be added to the
range. The tried-and-tested R&M ZOONA
splices are mechanically sealed in IP68 for
typical access network applications with
compact dimensions that are designed for
little space in smaller handholes or already
very full shafts. They enable cost-effective
and time-saving installation without special
tools. The preparation of individual cable or
loop entries takes place outside the splice
closure. The functions for overlength and
fiber management, splicing and splitting are
available inside.
The keys to expanding
aerial grids
– Speed and efficiency: Quick and
easy network expansion thanks to
pre-terminated cables, innovative
distribution cabinets and modern distribution
splice closures
– Resilience: The HEC-BR/QR connectors
withstand extreme conditions
– Sustainability: Aerial deployment not
only saves time, but also costs by
using existing infrastructures
