Alchemical Voice - L2M - Issue 26
The same way, I maintain that you can get lost in your
thoughts and feelings if you do not have clear reference
points.
Navigating your thoughts and feelings can be similar to
moving through time or journeying through space, the
ocean or a desert.
One way is to see time as a map. There will be moments
and calendar dates connected to important events in
your life. Those moments or events will be your
reference points. On the map, you will not only see
instances from your own life, but also that of your
ancestors and maybe other people as well. Each time
map is individual.
As a Shamanic practitioner, I would also include future
events on my time or event map. Those events can be
such that are certain to happen, such as my own (or
others) physical death, they can be events connected to
probabilities or even wishes and hopes. If one desired
event is a job I am dreaming of, then I can add it to my
time/event map and then try to create a plan that will
help me navigate towards that dream.
Immanuel Kant claimed that Time is a way to describe
the order between consecutive events. I completely
disagree. His view was a technocratic, mechanical
understanding of the relationship between time and
events. As with my above description of a time/event
map, the order of events can be changed, at least with
respect to their values, energetic vibrations and how
they affect you.
There are geographical maps, there is mind-mapping
and I put it to you that there could be time /event
maps. Go to your closet and pick a white sheet. Spread
it out on the floor and get a marker pen. Then write
events on it, in random spots on the sheet. Write down
events from past time, currently on-going and planned
for the future. But avoid marking them with dates. Just
let them be events. Then connect them whichever way
you want, in an order you feel drawn to. This way of
lining them up might well make more sense to you and
be more useful in your understanding and dealing with
them, than if you would place them in a consecutive
order as per dates and timings.
