They also enable the change of distribution and the
nature of the energy used in the body, by responding
to the internal and external signals that affect the use
of that energy.
The commonly recognised extraordinary vessels are as
follows: Central, Governing, Vital, Inner Regulator,
Outer Regulator, Inner Mobility, Outer Mobility and
Belt. These relate to the Chinese titles Ren Mai, Du
Mai, Chong Mai, Yin Wei Mai, Yang Wei Mai, Yin Qiao
Mai, Yang Qiao Mai, and Dai Mai.
According to TFH practitioner Marguerite Murray each
vessel has corresponding positive and negative
emotions, gland relationships and essential oils that
enable balance.
Many kinesiology modalities do not recognise the
extraordinary channels, it seems because very little
information has been published on them in Chinese
texts. What has been published appears contradictory.
Dr George Goodheart, the founder of Applied
Kinesiology, tapped into this information when
explaining the connection between muscle function
and energy flow, however most of the research on the
extraordinary channels seems to have been conducted
in Japan, particularly by Yoshio Manaka, Kazuko Itaya
and Stephen Birch, who published this research in their
book - ‘Chasing the Dragon’s Tail’ in 1991.
Recent scientific research, by Issei Kasai, Yuki
Kitazumi, Kenji Kano and Osamu Shirai in 2020 has at
least partly proven the proposed theory in this book,
the existence of ‘electrical cellular information systems’
to be correct.
This is where the ancient concept of the Taiji Pole
integrates nicely with up-to-date knowledge.
