Consensus among the distinguished Scholars upon this verse with an analysis as<br />
to who these members are whom, Allah (SWT) revealed it for<br />
1. Said Abu Bakr al-Naqqash in his Commentary: There is a consensus among the<br />
most of the commentators that, this verse revealed for Ali, Fatima, Hasan <strong>and</strong> Hussain<br />
Salwatullah Alaihim.<br />

2. Allama Sayyedi Muhammed Jasoos in Sharh al-Shumail: And came Hasan bin<br />
Ali then, been entered, then came al-Hussain Bin Ali <strong>and</strong> entered with them, then came<br />
Fatima <strong>and</strong> been entered, then came Ali, <strong>and</strong> been entered <strong>and</strong> then, said: (Innama<br />
yureedullahu liyuzhiba..33:33) <strong>and</strong> in that there is an indication that they are meant to be<br />
the members of Prophet’s house in the Verse (33:33).<br />

3. Imam al-Tahawi in Mushkil al-Atha’ar: In this Verse, the people whom Allah<br />
addressed, according to what the Holy Prophet (<strong>SAWS</strong>) said are the Holy Prophet<br />
(<strong>SAWS</strong>) himself, Ali, Fatima, Hasan <strong>and</strong> Hussain (RAA) <strong>and</strong> no one else.<br />
� Mushkil al-Atha’ar by Imam al-Tahawi, V1, P.337, Ch. what it has been<br />
reported from the Holy Prophet (<strong>SAWS</strong>) about this Verse.<br />
And added he; The tradition of reiciting this verse (33:33) by the Holy Prophet<br />
(<strong>SAWS</strong>) on the door of Fatima (RA) daily while going out for the Morning Prayer, that<br />
this action of Him (<strong>SAWS</strong>) is also another evidence which demonstrates as to whom this<br />
verse refers to i.e the Holy Prophet (<strong>SAWS</strong>) himself, Ali, Fatima, Hasan <strong>and</strong> Hussain<br />
(RAA).<br />

4. Imam Shawkani in Irshad al-Fahool: And<br />
5. Imam al-Sheikh al-Shablanji in Noor ul-Absaar: This is also clearly evident<br />
from what the Holy Prophet (<strong>SAWS</strong>) said about them (i.e. Ali, Fatima, Hasan <strong>and</strong><br />
Hussain) at the time of Mubahila in Nejran as it has also been recorded by the Qur’aanic<br />
commentators ( i.e. O Allah! These are the members of my household).
