The revelation of the above-mentioned verse, followed by the Holy Prophet’s action<br />

demonstrates that the Progeny of Muhammed (<strong>SAWS</strong>) are the “Qurba” mentioned in the<br />

Quraanic Verses. Especially in 42:23 <strong>and</strong> 17:26 whose adoration Allah (SWT) has<br />

enjoined upon Muslims through the verse: ل لل<br />

Furthermore, in “Ahkam al-Quran” Imam Shafaie (RA) recorded a Hadith from Hadrat<br />

Umar Bin Khittab (RA) that He (RA), while dividing between Hadrat Abbas (RA) <strong>and</strong><br />

Hadrat Ali (RA) a property left behind by the Holy Prophet (<strong>SAWS</strong>) said:<br />

There was property of Bani Nazeer where neither Horse nor Rider ever entered <strong>and</strong> it was<br />

purely for the Holy Prophet (<strong>SAWS</strong>) without Muslims, where the Holy Prophet (<strong>SAWS</strong>)<br />

used to distribute among his family members yearly, from.<br />

However, al-Imam Abi Faraj ibn al-Jawzi (RA) writes in his Tafseer “Zad al-Museer” in<br />

connection with this verse citing Ahadith from Hadrat Ali Ibn Abi Talib, Hadrat Ali Ibn<br />

al-Hussain <strong>and</strong> Hadrat as-Suddi (RAA) that it refers to rights of the Kinsmen: Give them<br />

from the Khumus.<br />

these “Qurba” are:
