WaveLAN/PCMCIA card (PC card) is a credit card size
network adapter which fits in a PCMCIA Type II card socket
in a personal computer.
compact antenna module connects to the PC card with a
450 mm (18 in.) cable, allowing the module to rest on the
desktop or other work surface. The antenna module may also
be mounted on the computer body using the bracket provided
for that purpose.
LED indicators on the antenna module provide status
information (Power On/Off, Transmit, Receive).
WaveLAN/PCMCIA adapter card is shipped with three
software diskettes:
1 Driver and diagnostic software for Microsoft Windows 95
or Windows NT operating systems:
● Miniport Driver and ‘INF’ file for card installation
● WaveMANAGER/CLIENT program to monitor
wireless performance.
2 Driver and diagnostic software for Microsoft MS-DOS
operating systems:
● An install program for computers that support Card
and Socket Services (CS&SS), or
● The Enabler program, for computers that do not have
Card and Socket Services installed.
● Network drivers for NetWare (ODI)- or NDIScompatible
networking environment.
● The Point-to-Point Diagnostics and WaveMONITOR
tools to diagnose the wireless link with other
WaveLAN stations or WavePOINT access points.
● Frequency Select Utility, that enables you to modify
the factory-set operating frequency (limited to specific
2.4 GHz units only).
