Hardware Installation Card Removal and Re-insertion 2 Enabler-Based Installations In Apple Powerbook Systems 2 MS-DOS based computers that do not support Card Services and Socket Services (CS&SS) you would typically install WaveLAN/PCMCIA with the Enabler program. In Enabler based installations, you will still be able to remove the WaveLAN card and re-insert it later. However, if you would insert another PC Card into your computer in the meantime, this might adversely affect the ability of the WaveLAN/PCMCIA card to resume operation. Inserting another card while the WaveLAN card is removed is not recommended for Enabler-based installations. Once your WaveLAN/PCMCIA card has been configured (as described in Chapter 8, “Installation for Apple Powerbook Systems”), you can insert your WaveLAN/PCMCIA card either before or after you boot your Powerbook System. 2-6 WaveLAN/PCMCIA User’s Guide
