Do wezwania śmigłowca uprawnieni<br />
są dyspozytorzy Centrów<br />
Powiadamiania Ratunkowego,<br />
GOPR, TOPR, WOPR, Straż Pożarna<br />
poprzez dyspozytora pogotowia<br />
ratunkowego. Śmigłowiec<br />
lub samolot Lotniczego Pogotowia<br />
Ratunkowego może być również<br />
zadysponowany do transportu pacjentów<br />
pomiędzy szpitalami. Potrzebę<br />
takiego lotu zgłasza lekarz<br />
prowadzący pacjenta, a decyzję<br />
na wykonanie transportu podejmują<br />
dyspozytor krajowy, lekarz oraz<br />
pilot dyżurny.<br />
Jakie predyspozycje psychiczne<br />
i umiejętności powinien mieć<br />
pilot Lotniczego Pogotowia Ratunkowego?<br />
Trzeba mieć dobre zdrowie i być<br />
pozytywnie weryfikowanym przez<br />
lotniczą komisję lekarską. Trzeba<br />
umieć radzić sobie ze stresem,<br />
szybko reagować na zagrożenia,<br />
podejmować ważne decyzje<br />
w deficycie czasu i kalkulować<br />
ryzyko.<br />
W czasie akcji jesteśmy świadkami<br />
wydarzeń ostatecznych, często<br />
walka poszkodowanych o zachowanie<br />
ludzkiej godności jest dramatyczna,<br />
a to musi głęboko poruszać.<br />
Z drugiej strony musimy jako<br />
piloci zachowywać się profesjonalnie,<br />
działać sprawnie i zgodnie<br />
z obowiązującymi procedurami,<br />
odpowiadamy za bezpieczeństwo<br />
misji. Dlatego pilot Lotniczego Pogotowia<br />
Ratunkowego powinien<br />
znaleźć równowagę pomiędzy<br />
emocjami i zawodowstwem.<br />
Ważna jest także umiejętność pracy<br />
w zespole, budowanie dobrej<br />
atmosfery, szacunek i zrozumienie.<br />
I wreszcie to, co moim zdaniem jest<br />
najważniejsze – ogromna pokora<br />
wobec ograniczonych możliwości<br />
śmigłowca, własnych niedoskonałości<br />
i natury. W trudnych chwilach<br />
ogromnym wsparciem jest dla mnie<br />
moja rodzina i przyjaciele. Mamy<br />
też możliwość zwrócenia się<br />
z prośbą o pomoc do psychoterapeuty,<br />
zatrudnionego w <strong>Lotniczy</strong>m<br />
Pogotowiu Ratunkowym. Czasami<br />
jest naprawdę ciężko.<br />

In what situations is Air Rescue<br />
used?<br />
When the time it would take to<br />
travel by air from the place of the<br />
accident to the Hospital Emergency<br />
Department is shorter than using<br />
other means of transportation<br />
and it could benefit the further<br />
treatment of the patient, and also<br />
when the circumstances – such as<br />
drifts or traffic jams – may prevent<br />
or significantly delay getting<br />
specialist help to the victim. We<br />
are also called to mass incidents,<br />
patients in states of sudden cardiac<br />
arrest, heart attacks, strokes,<br />
drowning – so whenever lives are<br />
threatened, and the time for delivering<br />
aid is critical. Dispatchers<br />
from the Centres for Emergency<br />
Notification, Mountain Rescue,<br />
TOPR, WOPR, and the Fire Department<br />
through the ambulance<br />
dispatcher are all entitled to call<br />
for rescue helicopters. Air Rescue<br />
aircraft can also be used to<br />
transport patients between hospitals.<br />
The need for such a flight is<br />
declared by the doctor treating<br />
the patient, and the national dispatcher,<br />
the doctor and the pilot<br />
on duty make the final call.<br />
What are the psychological<br />
predispositions and skills required<br />
of Air Rescue pilots?<br />
You need to be in good health<br />
and receive a positive medical<br />
evaluation by the air medical<br />
committee. You must be able to<br />
cope with stress, react quickly to<br />
threats, make important decisions<br />
in little time and calculate risk.<br />
During a crisis we are often the<br />
final witnesses, and often the victims’<br />
struggle to preserve human<br />
dignity is dramatic, and it must<br />
be deeply moving. On the other<br />
hand, we must behave as professional<br />
pilots, operating efficiently<br />
and in accordance with applicable<br />
procedures, as we are responsible<br />
for the security of the<br />
mission. Therefore, an Air Rescue<br />
pilot should find a balance between<br />
emotion and professionalism.<br />
The ability to work on a team<br />
is also important, as is building<br />
a good atmosphere, respect and<br />
understanding. And finally, what<br />
I think is most important: great<br />
humility towards the limited capacity<br />
of the helicopter, our own<br />
imperfections and nature. In difficult<br />
times, my family and friends<br />
are a tremendous support for me.<br />
We also have the possibility to<br />
request the assistance of a psychotherapist<br />
working in the Air<br />
Rescue Services. Sometimes it is<br />
really hard.<br />
