18 Adult Enrichment Continued BRIDGE LESSONS Open to Adults & Seniors Our bridge lessons start in the fall and are an ongoing series of 6-week sessions that continue through May. The beginning lessons at 1:00pm are geared to those who enjoy cards but don’t have bridge experience, have played a minimal amount of bridge, or who have not played in years. The intermediate lessons at 10:00am are designed to enhance basic knowledge and improve skill levels while learning current conventions and strategies. This class is usually taken after our first year class. Because bridge is a game that needs a strong foundation of basic knowledge, our classes are only offered to new students in the fall of each year, so now is the time to jump in with both feet. Don’t worry about missing a few classes as we review concepts regularly. These classes do fill quickly. We have a limit of 18 students per class and only accept additional students mid-year if space is available AND knowledge of prior concepts is shown. If you have any questions on class content or where you would best fit, please give our instructor, Billie Dillon, a call prior to the start of the sessions at 262-893-8877. This class is designed for students who have completed the 2nd year session. We will be refining previous year’s concepts with hand playing being an integral part of the class. A partial list of new concepts is reverses, cuebids, DONT, and deeper analysis of play of the hand. We look forward to seeing you all again the fall. If you have a set, please bring it with you. Our choices will concentrate on a variety of current titles, with a classic thrown in here and there! And no, it’s not just for women. Everyone is welcome. Be prepared to talk, listen and share your thoughts and reactions to the month’s selection. Participants will be responsible for obtaining their books. A 15% discount is being offered at Next Chater Book shop. You must identify yourself as belonging to the book club. It is YOUR class, and you determine the topics and direction of the class. Bring in pictures, questions, and problems. This class involves demonstrations and illustrations. The instructor is a Wisconsin Master Electrician and Licensed Electrical Contractor. This class meets for 2 hours on 4 consecutive Thursday evenings.
