Ends Statement 8.3.3: The district will recruit and retain diverse faculty and staff who are professionals in
their respective fields, who are devoted to lifelong learning, and who are committed to work effectively
with the diverse student/staff population.
PROPOSAL
To approve the amendment to the AB 212 Round 7 stipend in the amount of $2,521.25 for eligible Child
Development Center teachers.
BACKGROUND
The original stipend amount approved by the board in February 2008 was $7,000.00. The stipend has
now been increased to $9,821.25, with $9,075.00 going to three teachers and $446.25 in administrative
costs. The amount of this amendment is $2,521.25.
BUDGET IMPLICATIONS
Funding Source – California Department of Education Child Development Division.
Status of Funds –The 2007–2008 Child Development Center fund budget will be increased as indicated
below:

51xxx Certificated Salaries $2,075
53xxx Benefits 447
Total $2,522
Future Implications –.This process is repeated yearly as funds permit.
RECOMMENDATION
