6. Other <strong>Design</strong> Requirements, Constraints and Margins<br />

<strong>SSG</strong>(X) must be highly producible and able to support variants if needed. The platform must operate with<br />

current logistics support capabilities and have absolute minimum manning.<br />

7. Special <strong>Design</strong> Considerations and Standards<br />

Concept development shall consider and evaluate the following specific areas and features:<br />

• Hull design shall incorporate features to reduce drag and minimize structural weight.<br />

• Propulsion plant options shall consider air independent, non-nuclear systems to satisfy the need for reduced<br />

acoustic and infrared signatures while addressing required speed and endurance.<br />

• Reduced manning and maintenance factors shall be considered to minimize total ownership cost<br />

The following standards shall be used as design guidance:<br />

� Endurance Fuel: DDS 200-1<br />

� Electric Load Analysis: DDS 310-1<br />

Use the following cost and life cycle assumptions:<br />
