Focus Basin 11 (The Bridges)<br />
Focus Basin 11 has the highest estimated pollutant loads in the entire <strong>Goose</strong> <strong>Creek</strong><br />
<strong>Watershed</strong>. Figure 24 shows the extent of the Basin. The primary reason for Basin 11<br />
receiving the highest ranking is The Bridges mall site. Although the mall has not yet<br />
been built, grading permits have been issued and land clearing begun. Moreover, this<br />
basin contains much of the I-485 Lawyers Road interchange and a significant portion of<br />
I-485 north of the interchange. A limited amount of single family residential is also<br />
present in the basin. It is very likely that after the mall is constructed storm water volume<br />
and velocity as well as pollutant runoff will increase. Currently NCDOT owns one small<br />
parcel in the northeast portion of the basin on the drainage divide. This parcel may be<br />
suitable to treat a small portion of I-485.<br />
