GPS SETUP PROCEDURES<br />
–Intending to execute GPS as primary Navaid (approach, SID,<br />
STAR)<br />
Preflight:<br />
• GPS NOTAMS (Dest/Alt) GPS NOTAMS - “KGPS” in DINS<br />
Ground Procedures:<br />
• Database Currency: SET pg 0<br />
• Predicted Destination RAIM availability status<br />
1. STA 5<br />
2. Enter airfield identifier (destination/drop-in)<br />
3. Enter ETA to airfield<br />
4. Press ENT. RAIM calculation will start.<br />
5. RAIM calculation results will be displayed in bar format<br />
for the selected identifier and ETA (± 15 minutes).<br />
a. Bars above the line indicate RAIM is available.<br />
b. Bars below the line indicate RAIM is not available.<br />
Note: If RAIM check indicates that appropriate reliability for<br />
the planned destination may not be available, either develop an<br />
alternate (non-GPS reliant) plan for landing at the intended<br />
destination or proceed to an alternate airfield. To check RAIM<br />
airborne, select STA 5 page. Destination and ETA should be<br />
automatically updated based on the active flight plan.<br />
SID:<br />
1. Select SID from appropriate APT page.<br />
2. Use left knobs to reduce CDI scale to ± 1.00 on MODE page.<br />
Enroute/Descent (as appropriate):<br />
1. On STA 2 page, check estimated position error, RAIM and FDE<br />
status. RAIM and FDE should both indicate YES – if not,<br />
develop an alternate (non-GPS reliant) plan for landing.<br />
2. Check predicted RAIM availability status on STA 5 page.<br />
STAR:<br />
1. Select STAR from appropriate APT page.<br />
2. Use left knobs to set CDI scale at ± 1.00 on MODE page.<br />
