T-39 LOW ALTITUDE TRAINING RULES<br />
-Terrain clearance tasking takes priority over all Mission Tasking<br />
-Minimum weather: 3000’ / 5 SM, must maintain VMC on route<br />
-Pilot shall acknowledge all hazard calls and maneuver accordingly<br />
-Any proximity warning shall be acknowledged by all aircrew<br />
(TCAS/RADALT)<br />
-Minimum targeted altitude for each leg shall be 500’ AGL, or<br />
minimum published altitude, whichever is higher<br />
-RADALT shall be set to 90% of the lowest targeted altitude of the<br />
low level route (i.e. 500’ X 90% = 450’ AGL)<br />
-Any crewmember observing an altitude below RADALT setting, or upon<br />
hearing the RADALT tone for other than momentary deviations, shall<br />
verbalize “Climb.” The pilot shall verbally acknowledge “Climbing”<br />
and initiate a climb<br />
-Minimum airspeed: 250 KIAS<br />
-Pops are not authorized<br />
-Any aircrew can call “knock it off” for any reason<br />
-All aircrew/aircraft shall acknowledge a “knock it off” call<br />
-“Knock it off” shall be called for the following:<br />
1. Training rule violation<br />
2. NORDO/Loss of ICS<br />
3. Loss of situational awareness<br />
4. Unsafe condition/emergency<br />
5. Unscheduled aircraft on the route<br />
6. Weather below 3000/5 or inadvertent IMC<br />
7. Departure, G-LOC, overstress<br />
8. Bird strike<br />
- Following a “knock it off” aircraft shall climb to or maintain a<br />
safe altitude and determine if the mission will be continued or<br />
aborted<br />
