This section provides the NTSB with the abilitv to recover the
exp€nses which it incurs in conducting accident iirvestigations on
behalf of these entities.
The Committee exp€cts the Board to keep the Committees, including
the Committee on Appropriations, aware of the extent of
such revenues and their uses each year.
Section 6. Reporting of accidents and, irrci.dents inuoluing certain
public aircraft
This section allows the Board to establish requirements for the
reporting of accidents and incidents involving pubiic aircraft, excluding
aircraft of the armed forces. Since many types of aircraft
are owned and operated in both the public and private sector, valuable
information regarding public aircraft safety may be acquired
from establishing performance histories for public aircraft.
