bombers to fix on so they can be destroyed. In World War 11 the air became a crucial, and much
transected battlespace. Heaven and earth are here transfixed into killing zones. Battlespace has
continued to expand and it now reaches into space, at least into low orbit, perhaps to the moon.
On Earth as well, war has spread out to the cold of the arctic region and the deep sea depths and
to every corner of the land, whether it is inhabitable or not. War has expanded in time as well,
of course. These lights cut the night so aerial killers can be hunted. Vast industries were created
to make this deadly hide-and-seek game possible; industries that dominate the postmodern
economies of today. As war continues to multiply its modes and sites we must wonder how long
