FOR THE FUTURE<br />

Whether to build new<br />

sections, interchanges and<br />

bypasses or improve existing<br />

networks, the APRR group<br />

continues to invest in and<br />

modernise its infrastructure.<br />

These investments aim to<br />

improve the satisfaction<br />

and safety of its customers.<br />

New<br />

constructions<br />

The new construction works carried out<br />

in 2009 concerned:<br />

n the A406 motorway and the south<br />

bypass around Mâcon, with the<br />

beginning of the main construction<br />

works and of the viaduct over the River<br />

Saône,<br />

n the Les Echets – La Boisse A432<br />

motorway where construction works<br />

on the La Côtière viaduct continue<br />

and where the earthworks have begun<br />

on the sections and on the motorway<br />

interchanges for the A42 and A46 Nord<br />

motorways,<br />

n the A714 motorway and the<br />

Montluçon motorway slip road, with<br />

the end of preparatory works and<br />

the beginning of widening works.<br />

These three new links, representing a<br />

total distance of 30 kilometres, will be<br />

opened to traffic between end-2010<br />

and mid-2011.<br />

€432 million<br />

invested in new constructions, network<br />

improvements and equipment renewal.<br />

Additional investments on<br />

motorways in service (ICAS)<br />

The Group maintains and improves<br />

the network by making regular<br />

complementary investments<br />

concerning:<br />

n widening to three lanes,<br />

n new interchanges,<br />

n enlargement and renovation of a large<br />

number of service and rest areas,<br />

n the creation of new interchanges and<br />

branches,<br />

n increased toll plaza capacities,<br />

n parking areas and buildings,<br />

n protection of the environment.<br />

n 1159 million for new constructions,<br />

n 1171 million for network improvements,<br />

n 184 million for operating assets (of which €29 million<br />

of road resurfacing material)<br />

n 118 million for associated costs, i.e. immobilised<br />

production plus interest during construction
